A couple of weeks ago we visited Sinziana’s dreamy apartment in Bucharest, me & Irina that is. You already know Sinziana and her awesome blog Project Fairytale but you’ll read more about her in this post.
S and her boyfriend recently moved in this new place, in a busy & popular area in Bucharest, and they redecorated it together. The one bedroom apartment is full of vintage finds, heirlooms, DIY projects but also custom made furniture & Ikea pieces.
See for yourself!
Tell us a bit about yourself. What do you do? What does a typical day look like for you?
Well, I’m the blogger behind Project Fairytale and the creator of the Boîte des Merveilles book clutch bags. I am also a person with a very analytical day job and I think the mix of these two really define who I am: my feet well on the ground but my head often up, in the clouds.
My typical days can be split into weekdays, when I go to the office in the morning and come home in the evening and cook something (I adore cooking) or go out with friends, and weekends, when I love to sleep in (although I rarely do that anymore), do some chores, go to the market for flowers and fresh produce and have friends over for drinks and food.
Why did you pick up this particular apartment?
First for the light, I am in love with the light I have all day long. Then there is the positioning, which is really close to the city center and everything I need (work, friends etc.)
What inspired you while decorating?
This is a tricky one ☺ I had some pieces of furniture I wanted to keep, that were part of my grandmother’s furniture and I also wanted some specific details (like the OSB headboard and bathtub mask). So I kind of started from there and searched for details that would fit in best. I knew very well the type of kitchen I wanted and had it custom-made. And most of the decorations are things that were in my family for a long time and things I bought before. I do not think I bought any specific decorations for this particular space, but everything fits together exactly as I wanted. Also, I have to admit I had a trusted partner in the whole process, who came with wonderful ideas along the way.
Did the fact that you are fashion/lifestyle blogger influenced the style in which you decorated your home?
There is a high probability that yes, this influenced me a lot. Actually all the blogs I follow, and especially Daily Dream Décor (<3) served as an inspiration, but not necessarily during the process of development, but as sources that defined my aesthetic.
Can you tell us which are your fav dreamy pieces from your home?
I have many ☺ I love my vanity that was an older piece I repainted myself (I am pretty proud of how it came out), my reading armchair and the whole kitchen with the vintage chairs, which we painted in vivid colors.
Keen to share the most delightful memory you had here?
Well, it’s actually a new place, been living here for only a month so it’s pretty hard to pick an exact moment, we are now in a the process of building memories… But, some of the best things happened in the process of putting everything together, when we were painting the old piece and sorting through the stuff I had from my grandma, which reminded me of a lot of childhood memories I am very fond of.
Hope you enjoyed our first home tour, more to come!

I like the mix of antiques and modern. And I really like the stove (or is it an oven and range top?) and the hood. I couldn’t quite make out the brand. Can you tell me what it is?
Is the kitchen Ikea? Really nice.
It’s Hansa oven & range top and the kitchen is custom made. Glad you like it <3
Lovely place! As I am researching for my own place, I have a Q: is that tile on the kitchen floor or hardwood floor? Thank you!
