How to make your bedroom extra cozy

A true home is not a home without giving away that cozy feeling which in essence, it is supposed to make us feel relaxed, safe and at peace. After a long and stressful work day, we all want a bit of relaxation to get our energy back up. For me this means taking a warm bubble bath or curling up beneath the blankets with a good cup of hot chocolate while watching my favorite TV show.

If you are still looking for tips to give your own bedroom that extra cozy feeling, read bellow and maybe you’ll feel inspired.

1. BRING MAGIC WITH FAIRYLIGHTS

Fairylights are not necessarily a Christmas accessory. They can come in diverse forms, like stars, flowers or small light bulbs and they can twinkle or not, but these days, you can use them all year round if you want to give your bedroom a bit of magic and they are also a great alternative for a lamp.

2. ADD CHUNKY BLANKETS TO YOUR BEDROOM

Light bed covers during summers and extra blankets for the cold season, is there any other item that screams coziness more than a chunky blanket? I don’t think so.  Once curled up inside, you will never want to get out, especially if you get caught up reading a good book too.

3. DIM THE LIGHTS

All you need to get ready for bed is a relaxed atmosphere. My favorite thing to do to ensure a smooth sleep is to dim the lights, so this way my brain will know it is time to sleep. Nightstand lamps are perfect for this and of course, they will be in your reach.

5. USE NATURAL COLORS IN YOUR BEDROOM

If you feel your life is a bit stressful, you might need to consider to create a neutral space in you home, to ensure this, you can use natural, earthy tones in your sanctuary. People often say that vivid colors, although can brighten up a dark mood, they can also become tiring if the saturation is high. What you need after an eventful day is to relax, so you might want to choose nude sheets, a beige wallpaper or natural deco elements.

7. FLUFFY RUGS FOR YOUR BEDROOM

There is no way that fluffy feeling beneath your feet can’t bring you a smile and a feeling of immediate warmth. The next step would be to dive under the sheets, covered in an extra blanket and enjoy a good TV show.

Just when you look at a big chunky rug can give you this cozy feeling because it really reminds us furry animals and how they use their own fur to find comfort and warmth.

8. FRAME IT

Most people, including myself, feel cozy when they are surrounded with their loved ones. One way of preserving that feeling is to remind yourself of the wonderful moments you shared together, so why not frame those memories and hang them of your bedroom walls? You can also consider hanging art or posters if they remind you of certain people in your life you are fond of. It’s just another way of keeping them alive.
